“Bride” and “Groom” restored to California marriage licenses!

Most of you are probably familiar with this story in which a Placer County couple was prohibited from naming themselves “bride” and “groom” on their marriage license, being required instead to identify as gender-neutral “Party A” and “Party B”.

Well, it seems the California Department of Health has relented and will be providing forms with the old bride and groom designations – this time as an option – beginning November 17.

It’s never a slow news day in the Golden State.
