Most of you are probably familiar with this story in which a Placer County couple was prohibited from naming themselves “bride” and “groom” on their marriage license, being required instead to identify as gender-neutral “Party A” and “Party B”.
Well, it seems the California Department of Health has relented and will be providing forms with the old bride and groom designations – this time as an option – beginning November 17.
It’s never a slow news day in the Golden State.
How nice of them to agree that many thousands of years of human history isn’t totally bosh. Who knows, maybe some day they’ll figure out that babies in mommy’s tummy are babies.
