  3. The picture just struck me as giving lie to the awful sentiments about fewer kids would make us happier. One wonders which of the Kinder the good Frau would trade in for a more sumptuous meal or a nicer dress.

    We are in DEEP trouble in the West as we think we need everything we want. VERY deep trouble.

    In the meantime, the East is facing the opposite crisis. In China, Japan and Korea, children are growing up without siblings and are proving that fewer kids mean a sadder world.
