  1. Fantastic blog!!! You may well be on target more than you think. America is fast becoming Nightmare-ica and more and more persons are thinking seriously that the US may eventually become the “Babylon” of the book of Revelation. Your readers might like to Google “God to Same-Sexers: Hurry Up” which, via reverse psychology, is a literary bombshell. Keep up the fantastic blogging! Lou

  2. Jeff –

I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now. I’ve even bookmarked you. You write well. I agree with a fair bit of what you say, but probably disagree with more.

One question. Is your first prediction the cause of all the others?

  3. No kidding! At that rate, I’d say the second coming would be a bright spot next year… :)
And yes, with some of Obama’s comments that no one seems to notice the full ramifications of, I’d say he would be partly the cause of all the others. I’m sorry, but the man is naive and also scary in some of his actual ideas. I never, ever thought I’d dislike someone more than Hillary, but he wins that contest hands down!
I’m just glad I can afford my housing and my husband’s job is as secure as any. Hopefully we can weather the approaching storm. Hopefully food won’t be an issue, but I just don’t know….

  4. And if California falls into the ocean,
Like the mystics and statistics say it will,
I believe this hotel will be standing,
    Until I pay my bill.

  5. Lou: “Nightmerica” – I like it. Thanks for the comment and the recommendation.

Tom: I don’t think the first prediction is the cause, in itself, of the rest. Rather it is one more step in what has been a long march towards perdition. I could be wrong, of course.

    T. Chan and Danby: It’s my favorite blogging mood. :-)

Benedicamus: That might not be a bad idea. It’s going to be a bumpy ride …

  6. I’m not generally an optimist my self, but wallowing in fantasies of worst-case scenarios is the other side of the optimist/pessimist coin. The trick is to see things as the are, not as I hope they will be, nor as I fear.

That said, you know there’s something wrong with an election that makes one wistful for Bill Clinton, and start re-evaluating one’s opinion of Jimmy Carter.

    Bendicamus,
preparing for unpleasant circumstances is a good thing. I’m not sure why you seem not have guns already, but having a few long guns (at least) around the house is always a good idea. As for MREs, I’ll take homemade pickles and jam anytime. Nectarines make great conserves. I believe Jeff has some available.

  7. After #3, they seemed to me to get increasingly out on a limb. What do we get if we pick one to bet against and it doesn’t happen, Jeff? :-)

There is a bit of wallowing going on. Guilty as charged. However, I tried not to paint a “worst case scenario”. Notice that the country has not been invaded, California has not fallen into the ocean, there are no earthquakes or hurricanes or tornadoes, the antichrist has not yet arrived on the scene, martial law has not been declared, there is no violent persecution of Christians taking place. Rather, there is a converging of seemingly unrelated events, beginning to come together towards a yet unforseen single purpose.

The point is not that the specific predictions are true. My predictions are pretty worthless, actually.

“The trick is to see things as the are, not as I hope they will be, nor as I fear.”

Granted. But something like the above (not the specifics but the general direction) seems to me a realistic possibility.

“Nectarines make great conserves. I believe Jeff has some available.”

You’ve got that right! Can’t give ’em away fast enough. We’re just a 2-1/2 hour drive from the Napa Valley.

Well, OK, so I had to knock out a few SC justices to get things moving. But even in real life things tend to happen in clusters.

    A box of nectarines?

The May ’09 prediction is making me wonder . . . Were the SC judges secretly assassinated or did they die of natural causes? Whether or not there are conspiracy theories changes the whole tone of the future!

I didn’t have assassinations or conspiracies in mind, just the kind of “perfect storm” of coincidences that happens now and again. Reality is strange enough without conspiracies!
