I recently found two handwritten notes on my desk.
The First Note
Dad, can we go Swimming at nanas hous right now? or if not. take us shopping to buy a water slide? PLEEEAS?

Letting them run in the sprinkler is a pretty low-impact way to satisfy such longings. Then again, it just occurs to me: In your region maybe you have to ration water or something and can’t just go running the sprinkler for fun.
We’re on a private well, so there’s no water rationing here! They’ve been running through the lawn sprinklers almost daily. They just wanted more of an immersion experience. :-)
