About
I’m a 46 year-old married father of six, a traditional Catholic, and a fourth-generation Californian living in Chico. In this space you can expect commentary on religion, culture, politics, local history, and things of personal interest. The title of this weblog is an allusion to an obscure bit of Chico history linking the forest in our neighborhood to the mystical Sherwood Forest of merrie olde England. Hey Jeff, hoping the Christmas season is pain free and that you will have a blessed new year.
mr. jeff, it’s a joy to see you (even if tis over the ether). big pink holiday hugs from the summas to you and yours!
Owen: Thanks for stopping by. Very pleased to learn your operation was a success, Deo gratias! Happy New Year to you and your family.
Smockmama: Thrilled to “see” you too, smock! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I miss the old days. You summas are the only ones allowed to give me pink hugs. :-)
Jeff,
Wow. That’s a powerful song and video. It’s far too close to home about my own family’s trajectory over the generations.
It’s about 20 years now since I started feeling the ache in my soul for “an acre of my own” and the loss of my grandfather’s land. (At least in my case, my father didn’t sell it off…) Maybe a good New Year’s resolution would be to stop wasting any more time, eh?
Merry Christmas to you and yours, and may you and your family have a joyful New Year.
peace,
Zach
Zach, I would agree: time to get on with it! Best wishes for the New Year to you and yours!
Stunningly “on mark”. Wow. I’m speechless and that doesn’t happen often.
For those of us who took 5 years of French this has even more of an impact.
You know I’m going to have to link this.
Thanks,
Mary
